Originally the Tumbleweed motel (1949), then the Riverboat Casino (1971), then the Holiday Casino (1980)... then Harrahs (1992). Harrah's completed a total renovation in 1997 at the cost of $200 million bucks. The recently snapped up the Flamingo, Ballys, Paris and Caesars in their annexation of the Caesars gaming empire.
Starbucks OK
Toby Keith restaurant serves fried bologna sammitches (yuck)
Harrah's slots are probably the worst in town. The drink service is equally as bad. Honestly, we've never won a cent in this casino, and not for lack of trying. Harrah's Las Vegas is a prominent member of the "don't waste your time" file. Pass.
Harrah's offers the entire shebang of slot machines as well as BlackJack, Craps, Roulette, Carribbean Stud, Let It Ride, PaiGow (with Bonus), a Poker Room, Baccarat and Mini-Baccarat. Their single and double deck blackjack games allow doubling on 8-11 only.
Boring and somewhat small standard rooms. The windows don't open in the standard rooms (which do at the Imperial Palace next door). This is the kind of room that makes you say Hey... lets hit the tables.... but when you get to the casino you can't find the tables because the floor layout is so horrible.
Standard fare. The Cafe at Harrah's has some good stuff in it. Check out the Spicy Buffalo Wing wrap and the Spinach Dip appetizer. Yummy eats. Room service is fast, good and moderately priced as well. The Toby Keith diner offers standard trailer park delicacies such as Kraft Macaroni & Cheese with Tuna Fish mixed in, George Foreman grill burgers and fried bologna sandwiches that are made using that sandwich press thingy they sell on the Home Shopping Network. We think that, despite the hilarity, this is an insult to a Vegas tripper... you may think otherwise. You've been warned. Other options include Flavors (their fancifully named buffet) Ming's Table (uh... Chinese food?) Penazzi (Italian + Oyster bar), The Range Steakhouse (folk like this joint, we've never eaten there) Pepper Rose (sandwiches & deli)
The casino has fallen into a rather sad state of disrepair as of 2015. Much of the main floor was a cluster. Don't get me started with the bathrooms...
I wouldn't play or stay here any time soon, but the showroom is seriously impressive. Mac King and Million Dollar Quartet are as good as any shows in town. The replaced food court is a nice feature. (Hey, you're a monorail away from MGM Grand or the Westgate sports book.)
Always a great place to stop and gamble. I have had a great dal of success on the craps tables here. Also has an open stage and bar for concerts nightly. A great place to sit and watch some live music outside at night. Also has the dueling pianos inside.
I enjoy the Location and the room rates I get from Caesars Entertainment make this a value
Cramped rooms, cramped casino, cramped everything. I feel like i'm at the bottom of an ant hill here, fighting for food amidst a sea of cigarette butts.
FUN, BASIC ROOMS
I never got rich here, but have always had alot of fun. Love the location. Love the bars. It's my go to place to stay.
Good location, good buffet
I like Harrahs for what it is. Its cheap to stay at and it's in a great location. No frills but more than worth it to me. Carnival Court is always great for afternoon drinks but make sure to head off property for nightlife and dining options.
Another CET property in need of some renovations. I like the casino quite a bit and always enjoy Carnival Court
Good strip location, for seniors, I like this location, if you don't have a car rental staying here is good because they have great shuttle options to all vegas harrahs properties, great way to get to rio for a night etc.
It's CET - It's a room, it was free.
I love it...The place seems to get a bad rap, but I cant figure out why...I love the buffet and I've won a little in the casino...Rooms are pretty good, and not to forget I stay free every year at a Harrahs property thanks to their comps....Got to luv it...
I have not stayed here, thus I would not know if they hang dead cats in every closet. But as long as the "Triple Shot" game is in the Party Pit, I'll go here. the MOST FUN non-traditional casino game period.
Harrah's can bite my sack.
I love everything about this hotel! What can I say...its my favorite.
Nice hotel and did well on the slots. Would definitely stay there again.
Stayed here a few times. A little bit better than average but not spectacular
Not a bad place, good local, cheap like dirty water, right beside the best cheapest beer in town (Casino Royale), I'd go back
Rooms are well appointed but small. The casino is cramped and stuffy. But the drink service is awesome...actually too good considering the lack of bathrooms nearby. You get an idea of why Harrah's has been so successful because there are plenty of low/mid level rollers who are having the time of their lives here because they're getting comped. There's a fun vibe in a place where people are losing but still feel like they're coming out ahead of the game.
A great place to stay and play. Comp's are fair and a fantastic buffett at FLAVORS. The rasberry sorbet is the best I ever had. Claen rooms and good service here.
